If your child is eligible, you will be given a referral to present to your speech pathologist and be able to claim partial Medicare rebates for a limited number of speech pathology sessions.
National Disability Insurance Scheme
Children with developmental delays and disabilities that impact their functional participation in daily life and are likely to impact their future abilities may be eligible to access funded speech pathology services through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Children accessing the NDIS do not require a speech pathology referral, however their individual NDIS plan needs to contain relevant communication or mealtime goals.
